New York City has some of the world’s finest dance makers. The same can be said about Broadway and the world’s best musical theatre. I started this blog to help myself remember the many amazing dancers, incredible choreographies, and wonderful shows that I’ve had the opportunity to experience.

Explore some of my favorite dances, ballets, musicals and plays.

My favorite tonight goes to “Dare to Wreck” by Madeleine Månsson and Peder Nilsson of Skånes Dansteater, for some of the most amazing partnering that I’ve ever seen.

Malevo owned the stage tonight with their tapping/clogging, drumming, precision footwork, lighting, sound, and so much more.

Caleb Teicher and Company with Chris Celiz owned the stage tonight, with their tap dancing and beatboxing collaboration.

Good comedy, but the empty attempt to recast the story as advocating for gender equity failed miserably.

Re-watching this amazing musical on the eve of the 18th anniversary of 9/11. Still so touching. Still made me cry. Still made me laugh at the stupid Newfoundland jokes. Still one of my all-time favorite musical.

Had a wonderful evening at Cultivated Chaos, a full-length show created and produced by Julia Kane, to benefit the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.

The format of the show felt more like a book reading rather than a stage performance.

Go see #DateMe!!! Laughed non-stop and had the most wonderful time as we searched for love.

Great show by Anna Perales and the rest of the Blueprint cast.

Another favorite musical of mine. I'll be so sad to see it close in October, and naturally have to watch it again.

Seven years in the making, and a momentary goodbye to this favorite show of mine. Thank you, the Prom, for bringing the show to us. All the best on your next adventures!

Studio showing by the 14 choreographers in this year's summer intensive. The showcase is as much about the process of choreography as it is about the final presentation. After each piece, the choreographers received feedback, and we -- the audience -- get to see how they refine, experiment with, and iterate on a piece of choreography.

World premier of the Parisa Khobdeh Dance Company. Glad to see where our beloved Paul Tayler dancers are applying their talents, skills, and experiences.

Had to go back and see this show again. Such beautiful dancing! Also, I think Freddie is actually my favorite character!!!

Still absolutely in love with this musical. The show has gotten more amazing since Boston, with the current cast and incredible dancers.

Messy and big personalities. I'm also lucky to be in one of the few theaters east of Broadway, and unaffected by the blackout tonight.

As usual, the Paul Tayler dancers filled the stage with artistry and energy. If anything, the stage at the Manhattan School of Music seemed barely large enough for the exuberance of Paul Taylor choreographies.

What an exhilarating experience dancing with Nick Palmquist. Thank you for teaching us how to fly… for encouraging us to be ourselves, to embrace our own differences, to feel vulnerable in our dancing… and that it’s OK being exactly ourselves because we all have a place in this world.

A most incredible afternoon with Sam Lobel. Thanks for your genuine love of dance, your honesty, your support, and for being a role model on and off the dance floor.
